Music Video Magazine Advertisement:

Here is our magazine advert which we made for our song "Look At Me Now. We used a magazine advert to promote our album which we have made which is called Fallen Angel. We decided to add the wings which were put on Ignatius in the magazine advert to represent The Fallen Angel. As you can see we had the Def Jam Recording logo to be shown as our recording label. We then added a quote which we made which was "the remix is even more dynamic than the original" from Daily Mail. We also had a list of the artists to promote each of them as we have all made a song on youtube to help get us more known. We've made the name of song which we made a music video to quite large as it will then stand out alot and be very eyecatching towards the audience. At the bottom we then have the release date and the website to show more information about our rap group just incase anyone else from our audience wants to know more about our group.

Images shown of our group rehearsing for the music video few hours before filming:

Ignatius and Arjun practicing dance moves:

During our Project, we arranged some free days and periods for us to practice our moves, camera techniques and practicing editing through this time to get the best result of our project. Each day we were free, we would take advantage of the space and location given to us, like the drama studio and hall. We used these locations several times in order to get our routine perfect we needed to practice and the examples in the images show this, and eventually take us to another level in our project.

What we have learnt from the research of the textual analysis:

The main thing our group has learnt from the Textual analysis is how other music videos get the audience to watch there videos. We learnt that in order to attract a certain group of people, we need our music video to have constructive story line flow or a certain singer/rapper representing something. In our case, we had 3 rappers, and each of them has something to represent, i.e. Arjun represented his religion, Sohil represented his wealth, and Ignatius represented his talent. So it is key on what you are trying to achieve in your music video as it will determine whether people would watch or buy your songs. We also learned to make the music video different to others, as many look identical to one another, which makes it boring to watch and listen to. We also used our 3 rappers to develop their own lyrics to the look at me now beat, as this is also unique and different to existing videos. We also learnt how structure, manage audio and visualize effects on parts of the music video which look suitable to edit. So we didn't want to go over the top and add millions of visual effects, as we learnt to keep a balance by looking at existing music videos and comparing ours to others.

Letter of Consent:

It was quite hard to get permission to use the Look At Me Now instrumental in our video due to the way that the only way we would be able to get hold of Chris Brown himself was through Twitter. It took quite long to actually get a reply from Chris Brown due to he must be very busy, being known worldwide and being on of the most famous R & B singers. We managed to connect with Chris Brown over twitter to ask whether is was cool to use his tune in our music video. He was alright with it due to he let alot more people also remix to it.

Now we have got Adnan to tweet Chris Brown to confirm if we can use his song on our music video. The screen shot below shows the message tweeted by Adnan to Chris Brown, although a response is pending:

Changes:

During our Project, we did come across some changes with our music video. We changed some of the video clips along with a minor audio change. At first we filmed Sohil's scenes in 2 locations, which wasn't enough as we figured out the length of Sohil's rap is long and we needed variety in it. With Arjuns and Ignatius's filmed, we wanted to make each rapper equal, as it would make the music video look odd and unfair. Sohil filmed his park in the graffiti park and the tunnel. He also filmed it with a girl next to him, which also did not go well, so we decided to remove any girls in Sohil's rap and keep them in Arjun's and Ignatius's scene. This was because Sohil represents Money, Car's, wealth etc and the original scenario with the girls did't look right. So we've now changed his part, now it is updated looking much better and blending in with the whole video. We also changed some minor audio sounds, by increasing the bass of the song (long at me know by Chris Brown instrumental) and adding a few sound effects like, breaking glass, racing car effect and voice overs.

Colour Corrected in purple

Finally we came up with a decision with the colour corrections, as shown below, this was our final choice between how we wanted the resolution to stand out:

A slightly light tinted purple, with colour curves  to reduce background contrast, colour balance giving it the light purple look and brightness and contrast giving the video the natural colours in the area filmed.
